One To One Communication

The powers and duties of the City of Erlanger are set by ordinances. Erlanger's municipal government is run by an elected City Council. City Councilors are elected every four years. The Mayor is elected at large and chairs all Council meetings. The City Administrator handles the day-to-day administration of the City, under policies as set forth by City Council.

Residents are invited to comment on issues at City Council meetings, or you can contact them via email.

Tom Rouse Mayor Tom Rouse
Thomas L. Rouse was elected mayor without opposition in November, 2006. This position continues a family tradition of service to the City of Erlanger. Mayor Rouse served as a Council Member from 1989 to 2002, and served on the City's Board of Adjustments before that.

Mayor Rouse has been practicing law since 1978 and is a Member of the firm Wallace Boggs Colvin Rouse, PLLC. He is a member of the Kentucky and Ohio Bars, and currently serves as a Member of the Kentucky Bar Association’s Board of Governors, the body that organizes and maintains the discipline of all of Kentucky’s attorneys. He is a co-founder of and Past President of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association. In 2004, he was honored with the distinction of Northern Kentucky’s "Distinguished Lawyer."

Mayor Rouse has been involved in other civic activities as well. He formerly officiated high school, college and youth baseball, basketball and football.
