Citizen's Academy
- Patrolmen Jason Whaley and Jeremiah Dowell conduct the Academy.
- The Academy spans 13 weeks.
- The classes are one night a week, three hours a night.
- A person must be 18 years of age, have a clear background check
and be of good character to participate.
- Applications are available at the Erlanger Police Department,
505 Commonwealth Avenue, Erlanger.
- Classes include:
› Firearms and Use of Force
Exercises.
› Canine Demonstration
and Lecture.
› Traffic Stop procedures
and practical
› Presentations from Local
Judges, Prosecutors and Defense Attorneys.
› Firearms simulator training.
(F.A.T.S.)
› Building search and seizure.
› Use of a fire extinguisher
and CPR/First Aid certification.
› Presentations from the
Kenton County Sheriff, Coroner and Jailer.
› Explanation of the Erlanger
Communications Center and the 911 system.
